After studying an Art Foundation at the Berkshire College of Art and Design, Richard trained as an architect at Cambridge University, the University of North London, and the Bartlett, UCL. His post graduate project looked at the selective deconstruction and reprogramming of the London Bridge viaduct, to form a network of public and private spaces which explored themes of Emptiness, In-betweeness and the Caravanserai.
Richard has over 10 years experience in healthcare architecture, working first for MAAP on the celebrated Highcroft Hospital Mental Health Units and Kidderminster DTC. Prior to joining Fleet, Richard was a Senior Design Associate at Steffian Bradley Architects. Joining in 2005, he worked with Jaime Bishop on a series of projects including Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre, Walsall Manor Hospital and the Stanley Primary Care Centre. ) as a Joint Winner of an international housing design competition sited in Milton Keynes, ‘Lost Garden City Found’, 2006
Richard is an excellent all-round designer and realiser, working in all Settings. He brings much experience with complex sites and limited timescales. Richard has proven his dependability in maintaining a high quality product in the most testing of situations.
