Jaime Bishop was appointed as lead consultant and project designer working with MAAP in the initial stages of the Omagh Enhanced Local Hospital and Mental Health Unit PFI scheme. Our work included initial critical appraisal of the public sector comparator, site visits and preparation of a number of options to be presented to the client.

The project consisted of an enhanced local hospital with 60 bedrooms, diagnostics and outpatient clinics, and a Mental health Unit with various specialist wards amounting to approximately 90 beds. The project was set in the rolling green countryside outside of Omagh, and the scheme proposed took advantage of the setting without compromising the function.
