Health Building Note 04-01, Adult Inpatient Accommodation, was released in 2008. Fleet were asked to evaluate options to convert existing day rooms into single bed rooms that address the requirements of the revised Department of Health documents.

Our proposals navigated the limitations of the existing structure and services, and demonstrated that a refurbished or re-appropriated space can meet the specifications required. When completed, the new rooms will offer greater levels of safety, privacy and dignity to the patient, and their family and visitors. Single bedrooms can also offer an advantage in diminishing hospital acquired infections.
